Have you had any similar positions (Staff, PAC3, Developer) on other servers? If so, please list them:

only staff on a drak rp server but that was a while ago

Basic Reasoning Questions

Why should you be given this position over others?:

I think I should be given over others because I consider myself to be trustworthy, passionate and creative. I am often thinking of new events and ways to improve players experiences on the server, and want to make their time playing more enjoyable. And although I may not have a huge amount of experience being an Event Master, I believe I can bring something new and interesting to the Event Team.

Why should you be trusted with this position? And do you believe others think of you with the same perspective?:

I have spent a lot of time playing on this server, and have been playing since close to its conception. During that time I have come to gain an appreciation for events, and the way they should be handled as well as what it takes to make an entertaining and fun event that is inclusive to as many players as possible. My time spent as a higher ranking officer throughout the server over the years, from cl3 to CO, and building a reputation within the community making allies and acquaintances throughout the server, I am sure that anyone who knows me can vouch for my ability to be trusted with important positions.

Why are you applying for this position?

With my life allowing me to spend much time at home, I have been able to come up with many interesting and engaging event ideas. Although I do lack actual experience running events, I want to be able to make my ideas a reality and want to make more opportunities for players to roleplay and be able to feel more like they are really involved in a living star wars universe. I have also spent much time discussing previous events with other players and friends, and believe I have a concrete grasp on what would make a great and memorable event.

Before we continue, anything else you’d like to add?:

Thank  you for reading through my application, and I hope I am at least considered for acceptance into the Event Master Team

Event Master Reasoning Questions

What do you believe you can do to make Events more fun, enjoyable and inclusive?:

I believe that spending more time creating more dynamic and detailed events would make for a more entertaining event. I also believe in the use of the voice of the people, taking criticism and ideas from players on what they would like to see in events would lead to more people having more fun, living the star wars experience that every person dreams of being a part of. I also want to make use of an idea I came up with called “Micro Events”. A slight change of pace from the usual gigantic ship wide scenarios that occur 4 or 5 times a day, these events would occur more randomly throughout the ship, and would usually consist of a small emergency or issue that only requires the attention of a small amount of people. Some examples would be things like ‘a fire in the mess hall’ or ‘A TIE Fighter has fallen from its harness, causing some damage’. These events would bring a small piece of entertainment during the downtime between main events, and would create a more dynamic and living universe for players to experience.

- Answers are thorough, especially the one including his take on "micro-events", similar in structure to passive RP. This shows an understanding that events are not always massive scale, and can still include lower level attempts at creating enjoyable role play for the community. This proves to me that JD understands what it means to be an Event Master, and is capable enough to take on the role with great success.

- As for JD's statement that "I am sure that anyone who knows me can vouch for my ability to be trusted with important positions", I can back this up entirely, as during my stint within the 107th, JD showed maturity, an open, friendly nature, and proved to be a great person to work with. These qualities are absolutely vital in order to become an Event Master, and I am sure that JD holds them.

- Could flesh a couple questions, however, I believe that the somewhat lack of detail there is outweighed by the effort placed into his Event Idea documents

Good luck JD,

Clab

Yeah look, JD is a cool dude and all. But how good is Mac n Cheese.

On a real, accept the dude, he would make your EM team go from like a 5/10 to a 10/10 @Kristofer

+1, accept him or I’ll return to the server.

JD's always been a solid, loyal member of the community who from what I've seen strives to do his best in whatever he does on the server. He's very approachable, he's easy going and seems quite level headed. The one point of criticism I have is I'd like to see a bit more creativity and obscurity when it comes to events for the entire server. If executed well, that's the sort of thing that will make you stand out as one of the best EMs.
