Hello IG, Rook's Race has ended. @Lucky is victorious.

STEP ONE

Spoiler

The first step for you is to make me a list, some numbers of things that are easily missed.
But most of the race is not quite the same, as the rest of the challenges are outside the game.

I'll say it quite clearly, one number per clue. Six one digit numbers are needed from you.
And don't bother with guesses, you'll find it quite tricky, as step number two is awfully picky.

Good luck, make haste, the numbers are waiting. It's easy, I promise, a low difficulty rating... :kappaross:
And if you don't trust me, too bad, call your lawyer, but you'll find all you need on the Imperial Star Destroyer.

     1) The hall where one slumbers is low, and when done, the number you seek is the top number plus one.

     2) I like to relax, though I may not be able. The number is wrong, what should be on my label?

     3) I am a number, a quantity, of not a time, but a place. They are far, quite narrow, and connect one to space.

     4) A table, quite important, round and low, centered well. Behind you, an object! Quite a few, count and tell.

     5) An engine needs a place, a spy needs a space. They meet together, one not low, count the spy spots in a row.

     6) I shoot, I tire, I sit, I play. The tables in here... how many would you say?

* All information is accessible with Clearance Level 1

STEP ONE ANSWERS

Spoiler

     1) The hall where one slumbers is low, and when done, the number you seek is the top number plus one.
"The hall where one slumbers" = trooper bunks. "Is low" = the bottom floor, not the top floor. The highest number in that hallway is the number 8 above the final bunk, therefore the answer is 9.

     2) I like to relax, though I may not be able. The number is wrong, what should be on my label?
Tricky one! The officers lounge would allow me to relax, but I am not able, as the number 3 is not on my label (ID). (The clearance level required to enter.)

     3) I am a number, a quantity, of not a time, but a place. They are far, quite narrow, and connect one to space.
There are 4 TIE launch bays which are far and quite narrow.

     4) A table, quite important, round and low, centered well. Behind you, an object! Quite a few, count and tell.
The round, low, centred and important table is the holotable. Behind/above you are banners, and there are 6 of them. Some may have put "3" given that 3 are in front, but "quite a few" alludes to more than a simple 3.

     5) An engine needs a place, a spy needs a space. They meet together, one not low, count the spy spots in a row.
The other tricky one! In front of the engine room doors is a vent in the ceiling. I give multiple hints here, firstly we know its not inside the engine room as all info is accessible by CL1. Secondly, I say "they meet together, one not low", so stand at the entrance and look up, you will see your spy space (vent). Count the vents in a straight line (in a row) of which there are 7.

     6) I shoot, I tire, I sit, I play. The tables in here... how many would you say?
There are 8 tables in the arcade.

STEP TWO

Spoiler

You found your six numbers, you must be quite driven! But now we want letters, for each number given.
Six letters to move to the next stages below, this step deters cheating by guessing them, though.

Note: "[1]" refers to the number found from clue 1. "[2]" to the second, etc.

The first thing you seek is letter [6] of word [2]: pertinent, elaborate, foresight, established, commander, gyration, melbourne, digeridoo.
The second is [2] from the top, [1] from the left, look down to find this letter.
The third is [5] in the word "réglisse". Unfortunately, I don't speak French.
The fourth is letter [3] in a [5] sided shape.
The fifth is letter [1]+[4]+[6] of the english alphabet.
The sixth is the symbol for number 1[3][4] of the international phonetic alphabet.

STEP TWO ANSWERS

Spoiler

The numbers from step 1 are  9, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8. Therefore [1] is 9, [2] is 3 etc.

The first thing you seek is letter [6] of word [2]: pertinent, elaborate, foresight, established, commander, gyration, melbourne, digeridoo.
Letter of word 3 is "h" in "foresight".

The second is [2] from the top, [1] from the left, look down to find this letter.
This was quite hard, I will admit. We are looking for letters, and if you look down 45 degrees you will see many of them (on your keyboard). Count 3 from the top and 9 from the left and you will find the letter "i". I also protected against people only counting the letter rows on a keyboard (and skipping the rows above) as doing so gives you a non-letter character, and is clearly wrong.

The third is [5] in the word "réglisse". Unfortunately, I don't speak French.
Translate "réglisse" to english and you get "licorice". Letter 7 is "c".

The fourth is letter [3] in a [5] sided shape.
7 sided shape is a "heptagon" OR a "septagon". Letter 4 in either of these words is "t".

The fifth is letter [1]+[4]+[6] of the english alphabet.
9 + 6 + 8 = 23. The 23rd letter of the alphabet is "w".

The sixth is the symbol for number 1[3][4] of the international phonetic alphabet.
Google "International Phonetic Alphabet symbol 146" and you will find the letter "h" is this symbol.

STEP THREE

The cypher above is quite strange, I do say. But for some reason it sounds almost French, in a way.
You must use what you have! Each step has a purpose. This step has more layers than what's on the surface.

STEP THREE ANSWERS

Spoiler

The cypher sounds almost French? Ok, google "French Cypher" (or Cipher, as that is the most common spelling, you get the same).

Vigenère cipher? I wonder what that is! Let's have a closer look.

Option 1 is you realise that the Vigenere cipher requires a key. You then notice that step three says to "Use what you have! Each step has a purpose." so you try using the code from step 2 as the key and find your message.

Option 2 is you just stick it into a Vigenere cypher cracker, click "auto solve" and find the text, as well as the letters from  step 2 lmao.

The final step alluded to by "this step has more layers than what's on the surface" was to follow the instructions. "Find me where water turns to vapour"... steam. Find me on steam, go to my profile. "Get to know more about me." = click on "view more info" in my bio:

Morse code! Copy paste it into any morse code decoder and get: www.imgur.com/a/-------

STEP FOUR

Spoiler

If you've made it this far, you're nearing the key! You'll need to combine step two with step three.
But you may feel quite cheated, my clue quite absurd... so use [6] as well, put it down as the third.

STEP FOUR ANSWERS

Spoiler

Combine step 2 with step 3. That is, put "hictwh" in the empty slots in the imgur link.

However, there are 7 empty dashes in the link, and only 6 letters.
"But you may feel quite cheated, my clue quite absurd... so use [6] as well, put it down as the third."

Put 8 as the third character to bring the link up to 7 characters, as indicated by the dashes.

A picture of Julius Caesar, which could be either assumed, or found if you reverse image searched. The "Caesar Cipher" is a well known cipher, that requires just a number to break, which is "20". Put that in and you've found the key.

The key was "spookyseason".

Thank you to all who participated in this race. Lucky has won a prize of 250,000 points, and 30,000 credits.

(Disclaimer: "A simple game" was absolutely a joke, I am well aware that this was not simple.)
