Changing up Inferno Squad

Recommended Posts

I've talked to a few people on the server and they agree that inferno should have new members instead of the same ones that have been there for 3+ years. This gives no chance to new players wanting to tryout inferno, and they don't want to leave anytime soon. Now I know what there counter argument will be, where will we go if we are removed. To that I say Cl3+ and tryout for any regiment you want besides inferno, and let staff decide Iden, and let people tryout for inferno. It would make a lot of more intrest in the server, and there will be a spice up to Inferno Squad. If this gets shut down, all g, just wanted to say

So you want to remove the current ones because they’ve been too dedicated to the regiment???

I’m sorry it just doesn’t make sense to me why you’d remove someone from the reg when there is no issue with them currently with the only reason to make room for new people.

Before you get clap back from anybody (I'm sure all staff will reply with absolute professionalism!), I'll just lay down the main issue with this.

It's a novel idea in theory - I can see how it would be frustrating to never have an opportunity to apply for Inferno, I'm with you there. However, the members of Inferno who are there for the longest stay because they enjoy the role, and are good at the role. Inferno is a special forces squad, and if they were on a rotation, we could never confirm the professionalism and dedication of its members.

If you are wanting to join INF, my suggestion is to apply, and prove to them that you have what it takes. Can't win if you're not in the game. There is a wait list, but good luck!

Thank you for your suggestion regardless, this is exactly why the forums section exists.

I'd have to agree with Rook and splonter here, your best bet is to just wait, or seeing how you want to become Inferno. I recommand becoming some sort of ISB member or ISC to train in one of those two areas, as Inferno do of course fly, and also help out with ISB related stuff. So when you do get the chance to join INF, you are ready for it. (Or you could just do a me and become a IT-O droid and attach yourself to ISB for RP purposes and stuff) I hope these messages help you.

Inferno is in a better spot than it has ever been, do we remove the Emperor or Grand Moff because they've been in their role for too long? Hell no. The longest serving member in Inferno has currently been in the regiment for 232 days, not three years (See image below)

This is quite frankly the most ridiculous forum post I've seen in my year + of being on the server and I see absolutely no reasonable logic behind it except for the fact that you may have the intention of going for a role in INF if this was to happen. NEVER has the server rotated roles for "being in the reigment for too long" and it is an absolute diservice to the dedication that my fellow INF members have shown over their time within the Bureau. What next, shall we rotate management members for being in there too long too?

I'm sorry dude, but the likeliness of this ever happening is 0.0000001 to 1. Why? Because the people in Inferno have proven they are more than adequate, and competent, to hold the role. If they weren't they would've be removed from the role within a week.

On top of this, lore characters aren't meant to bounce from one person to another within a couple of days. It's a bit ridiculous to think one day we've got this person playing Iden, then the next day someone completely new. It's just completely ridiculous and confusing, not to mention the pain of running/being within a regiment who is always consisting of new members.

Sorry, but this will, in my opinion, will never happen.

Nonetheless mate, I understand what you mean by this, but these people are dedicated to the role and definitely haven't been there for 3 years since IG hasn't been out for 3 years. However, eventually someone will leave and you'll have your chance to put your hands up for it.

Hopefully you don't get smashed too hard for this post, as I know a lot of people will be angry at this. To those who are angry at this, I can and will lock this post if it gets toxic, don't make me have to please.

That'll proberly happen Bailey, sooner or later. Which might put a bad effect on the person who created the post. Prob best to lock it now then ever IMO.

I think rotation of a inferno or any regiment for that matter is not a good idea.

It would make the role not as important to get anymore and as River has said here:

People have spent nearly a year in the regiment in the roles stripping of them roles. Would most likely make these dedicated members of the community leave. I personally known the members and they love there roles and are dedicated to it and are suited for the role.

You can not be angry at someone at achieving that role being able to hold it for that long. If you feel this way as Rook as said apply DIO switches a lot of the time from player to player you might be able to get in that way then and work yourself up.

Yea, speaking of DIO, DIO is your best bet to get into INF. As well there isn't a really active DIO, seeing how the latest and longest DIO was only on for 35 days, meanwhile the other INFs are like 100+ days.

Hello Jack

As i have been Inferno Commander for 208 days i have built my squad to an exceptional level of skill and professionalism they are all active and we have taken Inferno to a new golden age. The thought of taking away roles from people that in their own time have tried out and passed the standard to get into Inferno sounds absurd. my recommendation as the Commander improve your skills [Climb Swep, Flying and Basic formations and ISB procedure] practice some RP and make yourself know in game. Then when a spot opens up you will be prepared to tryout and if you meet the standard claim one of the five Inferno slots

Look while I understand where you're coming from, and it has been stated before, they're dedicated. If someone puts in the time and effort, and meets the standard to get into a regiment, they shouldn't be booted out because they've been in for a while. Its great having a consistent person in a position as it means any intricacies to their RP will stay, the way they portray the character will stay, and honestly, its rare. If you want the position as everyone else has stated, apply, you'll never get it if you don't, but if you do you may have the chance. You could always try waiting for a spot in ISB and getting to know the members as I'm sure they would be more considerate of someone they know to be appropriate to the position. Its an elite regiment, and thus those elite enough should stay. Try somewhere else and hope that one day you can get in.

This is undoubtedly, without question, one of the most opaque suggestions I have ever seen.

What needs to be said has already been said, players should not be removed for dedication.

I understand the want of being in a regiment, despite it being unfortunately full, but one can't simply suggest for players to be purged from the regiment after a certain amount of time.

My apologies, but this has my -1.

Idea from @RexMaxwell, you could possibly give INFERNO Squad more slots.

We have the models for it really, just need some job-code and you'd have more INFERNO Squad.

It would be non-lore slots, as the crew of the Corvus weren't really INFERNO, but I mean there's plenty of non-lore on the server.

Maybe I'm being biased towards ISB, maybe not. Regardless, this is just an alternative the suggestion made on this thread.

+1 this idea or make new charcters the could be apart of sever lore and could act like a lore charcter where this charcter its self stays the same but not the person playing them

This idea sounds good

Only problem I have with adding more slots is it gets rid of the point of it being a special forces reg. Like sure if it's only a few more slots but remember it gets rid of their idea if anyone can get in. Also you can find the same experience in other regiments you just gotta give it a go.

You give Inferno Squad more members, you'll practically just be making ANOTHER specialist Regiment.

Whilst I don't agree with Ellery, his points are somewhat valid - so to the 11 downvotes, cheers.

Inferno Squad should not change leadership or members, as put simply, if there does need to be a discussion made about that their members are TOO dedicated, then, well, Rex is doing a GREAT job.
