So, the finale is upon us and finally we have a definitive answer to who is King / Queen and how each of the individual character arcs will end. Personally I'm extremely disappointed by the choices that were made in this finale but a few redeeming qualities are still in there. Spoilers will be in the drop down box.

Negatives

The fact that Bran is now the offical King has really gotten me pissed off, after 8 seasons of building him up as the Three Eyed Raven and his connection to the Night King they instead chose to throw it out and make him the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. There were so many genuinely better choices for the throne that would've much more sense within the context of the show yet instead we ended up with old mate "Bran the Broken". Along with this the reaction of Drogon to Dany's death was quite puzzling despite Jon being of Targaryen descent was a little infuriating.

Positives

One of my favourite parts about the episode was how Jon's character arc was wrapped up with him returning to the North and going beyond the wall once more. Reuniting with Ghost is up there as one of the show's most wholesome moments and it really brought a smile to my face to see that happen. Sansa staying as Queen in the North was another top moment for me and was a nice way to finish things off for her along with Podrick becoming a part of the Kings-guard.

These are just some base level thoughts as an initial reaction to the episode.

Spoiler

We at least got to see Jon and Ghost again. Plus it was sad to see Drogon at the end because he has lost his whole family (Daenerys, Rhaegal and Viserion), Overall I didn't mind Season 8 but I can agree the writing could have been better but now we have to wait for all the books to come out for a different ending.

I didn't mind the ending overall, with the Season being annoying, episode 5 especially, this wasn't bad compared to the rest, I liked the finishing of the character arcs, Bran becoming King even though he doesn't want it was a bit eh to me, but what could he do? He knew he'd be the best choice. Arya going West was sick as f**k, especially with the Direwolf at the head of the ship, Sansa becoming Queen in the North was awesome and Jon going back beyond the wall where Greyworm couldn't find him stayed true to his character as a whole.

Leading up to all of this was crap in my opinion, but the wrap up was done decently well with how D&D had f**ked it so far.

I have never been so disappointed in my life so many things went wrong in that episode it got to a point when I was debating whether to turn it off or not.

The fact that they totally shat on Jon and his destiny to be the king and they tried to turn Game of thrones in to a democracy it pissed me off it annihilates what made Game of Thrones so special and awesome.

Spoiler

in the society that is game of thrones they would not kneel to a cripple king in a chair, especially when there are TWO male heirs of the previous monarchs. [Gendry and Aegon] This also makes the plot line of Aegon Targaryen and Gendry becoming a Baratheon have no value at all.

Bran becoming king makes no sense since he said "I can never be a lord of anything" just subversion for the sake of subversion no point to it, also kings are signs of power and might you wont see bran go out to fight on his wheel 'throne 'chair.
You might bring up that he says that he dose not want to be king when he offers Tyrion to be his hand, but why come to Kingslanding then?

Sansa saying that the north will be independent because "a lot of northmen died" is also flawed since Valemen died and iron born too, so why dont they become separate also? its pure fan service that she becomes queen in the north.

Arya leaving, doesn't make a whole lot of sense, since her arc came full circle with the death of the hound and not becoming a hateful killer/fighter, she also never had any ambition to go west of westeros in the show, it would have made more sense for her to hang with Gendry or serve 'King' Bran as a master of whispers.

We also only get the conclusion of a few characters and their story, we don't know anything about a bunch of characters and the of their story, and how they feel about the new 'King' Bad writing is making stories and characters, that never are determined so so many characters and plot-lines and things in general are just left to never be determined and what happens.

Spoiler

Despite some of the disappointing moments, I am very happy with the small council and everyone on it.  It will be in good hands until someone builds a whore house the size of the Red Keep with his grain money.
