Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well.

I think its well established that I've not been on the server for a while now. My absence for anyone wanting to know, if anyone on the forums lives in NSW you'll understand, but my high school career is finally coming to an end (6 weeks, 2 for graduation, 2 for holidays and 2 for exams or 3) meaning that after all the stress and exams are over, I'll be able to return to my normal duties being on the server. This also means that I can't join for that period of time for I and everyone else in year 12 will be studying for their life hehe.

This absence of mine, sparked an idea for regiments on the server. What if, we could also put an in-activity report for each regiment on the forums? Now I understand that there is a chat log on discord and that you have to tell your commanders about your leave of absence, however some players can't reach communication hubs like discord or TS and therefore may resort to using either the steam chat which can be reliable, however not efficient in creating a report for the whole regiment to see. Resorting to the forums I believe is a great way in insuring that our inactivity log was put through. Also in say this there should also be a template (optional) like the EM, PAC3 etc applications to log and report a leave of absence from the reg. Remember, I've said this to a trooper in-game your duties IRL are more important than that of the virtual world.

I'll attempt to make a comeback on random occasions on the server so I can be apart of the community that I'll be leaving for a while.

To anyone who's expecting me in-game, sorry for the inconvenience everyone.

I look forward to seeing all of you in-game

Kindest Regards

From Cryo

It's a nice idea in theory my dude, and props to you for not being afraid to share your thoughts and ideas openly with the community! But i'd have to disagree that people don't have access to discord and/or ts3. Teamspeak can be downloaded for free and is much easier to use than discord, but discord can also be run in your browser; so if you can reach the forums, you can also just as easily pop into the discord instead :)

Good luck finishing year 12!

In terms of your idea, I personally don't think it's necessary.

If someone can be bothered to make a forums account and say how long they'll be gone for, then they DEFINITELY have the time to get onto a regiment discord [If they're not already on it for some reason] and make a quick note about their absence there.

An activity log on the forums is just going to make it more cluttered and messy to get around.

It should also be the individuals responsibility to inform his CMDR or to let someone know so they can pass on the message ahead of time, That they are going inactive for some time. Even if you don't manage to tell anyone you're going away in time, the random or general discussions section is a great place to quickly say that you're going away and for how long.

A list of activity times and who is away is up to the CMDR's discretion, although i recommend it HEAVILY! All regiments have a spreadsheet for their regiment, and if it is found that they don't, then IHC will have words with the CMDR...

The spreadsheet contains everyone who is in the regiment and their rank, and should be accessible by IHC personnel to view. Often, next to a troopers name is notes on their activity, which can be accessed by all members of the regiment.

If you want your CMDR to add this feature to the regimental spreadsheet, then it is your responsibility to suggest it to them.

But that's just my opinion

Good luck ~ Hornet

Thank you to everyone for your responses. Yes, I understand, however my only hope was that there was a second hand in-activity log that could be put onto the forums for people that uninstalled steam due to various problems *ahem* to many add-ons, bug, discord malfunction and etc. However, if this is the case than by all means, don't create a second hand in-activity log.

This pretty much already exists on the forum in the form of the private message system - only your CO needs to know that you'll be inactive, not the whole server, so you can just PM your CO here on the forum if you really don't want to use TS or Discord.  If it's important that your reg also be aware that you will be away, you can request your CO pass on that information.
