Recruit Room Add Rule

Recommended Posts

I feel like other important rules should be added onto the recruit room rules wall such as Fear Rp etc. I have seen many new players not abide to Fear Rp whilst using the excuse "It is not a rule on this server" however after seeing many people gaining warnings for Fear Rp I feel like it could be reduced by adding it to the wall.

Fear RP is a very unique situation that you don't come by often in SWRP, if anything this should be added to the rules on the forums not in the recruit room

+1 I agree with this because it is simple and can be held against people that don't do or abide by Fear RP correctly.

FearRP? That is something that is so specific to extenuating circumstances in regular roleplay. There doesn't even need to be a rule for it, just use your common sense.

Darth Vader comes up to you and tells you to do something, you do it. You do it because it's Darth fricking Vader, not because of some arbitrary rule.

I feel like FearRP is a rule that is unnecessarily exaggerated and enforced on... other servers... - we're more chill than that.

If someone for whatever reason is pointing a gun at your head and is telling you to do it, you do it. This sorta thing does pop-up time to time. Whilst i agree its rare, its nice to have something like this defined to avoid misunderstandings

Eh, with that in mind I guess it could be worth a look into, but for the most part common sense would be most effective.

You're a Lieutenant and some Private screams at you with his gun drawn to get down on the ground. What do you do? Cap the mofo, not bow to his whim. Also the scenario I just mentioned usually falls under minging (not always), I've hardly seen any serious roleplay applications of this apart from in events where it's glaringly obvious.

Theres been times for me, as a former Chimaera member where i've pointed my gun at someones head and told them not to move. Was the mildly effective way of arresting people when you don't have cuffs. But i agree, you don't want people like St privates abusing this

Yeah I feel like this should be self explanatory. If it is a 1 on 1 stand off between 2 troopers regardless of rank, than obviously it is fair for either to not stand down considering they can each go down with similar blaster rounds, but, if it is 2 or more people on 1 trooper, that lone trooper should definitely be reconsidering engaging and most likely backing down. If it is a Sith against any trooper, the trooper should always be submitting to FearRP, not only because sith can just deflect your bullets back at you, essentially making you shoot yourself, but because Sith can also use the force to play with troopers minds (usually just used to force troopers to tell the truth in interrrogations)

Generally I only apply FearRP when there is 3+ people either fighting me and I'm losing etc

That said I really tend to only do this when I'm an event character because it doesn't make sense for me to do this IC since I'm an RST.

Just do what I do when I encounter fearRP (which is usually when someone tries to hold me hostage), just kill 'em.

Well, I pose this question to the masses then: What rules do you believe should be in the Recruit Room?

Probably rules about clearance levels and the Sith? As an RST its blatantly obvious that people aren't shown around the ship and are sometimes left to fend for themselves.

Although we wouldn't really need a lot of rules in the room if people trained recruits properly.

One thing i’ve Encountered is a civilian *mugging* me (back when I was MSGT Sergeant) and apparently I can’t pull a gun or kill him and catch him off guard because it’s failrp/fearrp
