Secretary Applications

Recommended Posts

Alright, so in light of various developments and complaints, MHC is once again looking for secretaries and receptionists to help out around the joint.

There's going to be a similar tryout/application process as before, put in an app, do a meeting with me or another member of MHC, get told whether you made it or not. Unlike the previous around of applications though, no previous applicants will be put into consideration unless they apply again. Make sure that you also list what job you want to apply for as there are only 2 receptionist slots and 1 secretary slot. Fill out everything on the application.

Put your applications below, the generals will have a look at them (as well as the current members of MHC administration) and that's all I can say for now.

Application setup:

What is your Steam display name?:

What is your current in-game rank and regiment?:

How much time have you spent on the server?:

How active are you in-game and on the forums?:

Do you have any kicks, warnings or bans?:

Which job do you want to apply for?:

What do you know about Military High Command?:

Have you been the commanding officer or acting commanding officer of a regiment or organisation previously?:

In your opinion/experience, what is a MHC Secretary/Receptionist and what do they do?:

How will being a part of Military High Command benefit us and you?:

How good are you at typing?:

Do you know how to work a Google Sheets spreadsheet?:

What previous experience have you had in an administrative role such as or similar to a secretary?:

How much do you pay attention to the in-game chat window?:

How serious of a roleplayer are you?:

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you will be undertaking mainly a administrative role and not a combat role?:

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you may not talk about private MHC affairs with any other unauthorised person or organisation?:

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you will undertake the responsibilities of (to some regard) running the Star Destroyer and Imperial Military and bear the consequences of any failures?:

---

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE 22/1/18. SUBMISSIONS THAT ARE LATE, NOT WELL DETAILED OR NOT SERIOUS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Look at this sheet to get the hang of the command structure in the MHC administration team: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1S1OeqNXDdbneUKF0ZTp2tHxfCkpObDV4RlEfoW1J7gc/edit?usp=sharing

Good luck

Better not be kicking me for inactivity :'( e-grill needs a break in a sandy place where Darth Asthma can't touch her...

Jokes aside, thank you Stevo, I would not expect anybody more needing of assistants than you and of course the more the merrier.

Applications will be handled after closure by me and by any other Generals that want to step in. Please note, you are free to query any past MHC Secretaries and Receptionists to get information pertaining to the role. To place your application, send it filled in to any MHC personnel (does not solely have to be me) via private forum message or to the comment box below. We will not consider any applications sent via other means.

Good luck to all applicants, we obviously need you (I am keeping no tabs on how anything is going because I am away). Stevo has timed the application closure date well as I will be well and truly back by that time (home on the 18th) and I know good ol' Stevo here will want no hand in handling applications like last time ;).

Wooden’s Application.

What is your Steam display name?: Wooden Shed.

What is your current in-game rank and regiment?: 31st Demolitions Battalion, Private.

How much time have you spent on the server?: 1 week 2 days+

How active are you in-game and on the forums?: I try to be active for more than 4+ hours each day, and I’m on the forums every night and whenever I have free time.

Do you have any kicks, warnings or bans?: I have 1 warning for RDM from ages ago before I knew the proper rules of out of RP times.

Which job do you want to apply for?: I’m applying for secretary

What do you know about Military High Command?: I know that the MHC manage things such as Regiments, spreadsheets, Sergeant and Officer Cadet tests, they have multiple management rules on the Star Destroyer and administrative duties. Things like secretaries do tryout/training inspections and make up the Generals of the Star Destroyer.

Have you been the commanding officer or acting commanding officer of a regiment or organisation previously?: No, I have not been a commanding officer of any regiments.

In your opinion/experience, what is a MHC Secretary/Receptionist and what do they do?: Secretaries are a assistance to high command and the lower ranks are assistants to the other Secretaries. They are also the people who conduct things like tryout/training inspections the Higher secretaries can be in meeting on behalf of the general they serve. Secretaries also serve drinks to The general and their visitors. That’s all i know.

How will being a part of Military High Command benefit us and you?: I believe I can benefit the MHC because I’m very active on the server and growing more active on the forums as well, I consider myself good at updating/changing things when needed as well as management and I’m also very loyal to anyone I serve. I administration is one of my strong points. And I think it can benefit me in the way that I can sort of try something new in the way that I’ve never really been an actual Secretary for anyone, so i know the basics and it could be a good learning experience/experience on the server.

How good are you at typing?: Yes, I consider myself as a good and fast typer as well as knowing how to spell a lot of different words and good at grammar.

Do you know how to work a Google Sheets spreadsheet?: Yes. I mentioned above administration on pretty much anything is one of my strong points.

What previous experience have you had in an administrative role such as or similar to a secretary?: Well, I’ve had multiple roles in administrative related stuff OOC, however have not been a “full-on” secretary before.

How much do you pay attention to the in-game chat window?: I pay a lot of attention to the chat, however, I’ve never really had a reason to reply to anything.

How serious of a roleplayer are you?: I try to be as serious as possible and think I know when it’s appropriate to have a laugh, however, sometimes I might have a laugh when it’s not really appropriate but it doesn’t happen often at all.

Thankyou For Reading - Wooden

  • HK-51 Puppy
  • ST CPL Puppy
  • Engineer Apprentice Puppy
  • etc

How much time have you spent on the server?:

Current playtime is I believe:

  • 6 weeks
  • Rank is 99
  • 1680 Hours on GMOD overall

(C menu isn't working for some reason)

How active are you in-game and on the forums?:

I would believe I am quite active, I am quite sure many people could vouch for me as every day when I wake up, either go onto the server or hang around the forums for quite a bit.

Do you have any kicks, warnings or bans?:

I do, and I am quite ashamed on those instances

  • [ ◆ -2] Jman - FAILRP - 11/20/17 - 18:31:26
  • Revan - FailRP - 09/02/17 - 16:48:32
  • Imposing - RDM - 07/25/17 - 16:11:26

Which job do you want to apply for?:

I am applying for the Military High Command Receptionist position.

What do you know about Military High Command?:

Military High Command is known as the main agency responsible for coordinating the war effort in the galactic civil war as they controlled the military factions and regiments. MHC is led by a council of senior army generals that commanded all of the Imperial Army forces in the Military and was also known to be led by the MHC secretaries. Military High Command is very well known for having the power to make all decisions on ground campaigns and any other matters in the Imperial jurisdiction. Any promotion to a General rank was to be overviewed by the Military High Command senior officers (LT General, High General, etc)

Have you been the commanding officer or acting commanding officer of a regiment or organisation previously?:

Commanding Officer:

  • 31st Commander / High Colonel

Acting Commander / Second in Command

  • Storm Commando Warrant Officer (This was before the time of Edwards being the commanding officer)

In your opinion/experience, what is a MHC Secretary/Receptionist and what do they do?:

As a Military High Command Secretary, you have a great number of jobs to do with some being outside of Military High Command and being involved in regimental reports. Much of the work you do is inclined to make sure that the job of the general is much easier such as making sure the generals time is not wasted with small things such as a quick question or two. Important work you do is to oversee the recruitment of new recruits into the Empire and to notify any troopers of the new policies that are required in every regiment. Most of the work you do:

  • Is to make sure recruits are being properly trained.
  • Uphold any requirements you are given as a secretary.
  • Run routine checks of regimental spreadsheets.
  • Make sure test's (Seargent Test and Officer Cadet test) are being completed.
  • Serve Beverages for guests/generals.
  • etc.

How will being a part of Military High Command benefit us and you?:

I suppose if I were to join Military High Command It would benefit me quite a lot as it brings something new and bright to me, the passive RP included with the role is quite astonishing when you think about it. if I were to get the role seeing as I do get on every day (excluding the times where I am needed IRL) I could extinguish any pressure that has been laid onto the generals with things such as Tests and such. Also seeing as I have been in heavily RP populated regiments, I could RP quite well if the time arose.

How good are you at typing?:

I do believe that I am quite experienced with typing and pretty accurate seeing as I have no Microphone I have had to resort to typing for most of my life on Imperial Gaming. To add to that I rarely ever make any aberrations while I type.

Do you know how to work a Google Sheets spreadsheet?:

I have quite a bit of knowledge with Google Documents/Sheets/Slides/Forms as I have spent a few years using these applications and have used them many times on the server with many applications and such. I would also say I have a moderate amount of experience with the applications.

What previous experience have you had in an administrative role such as or similar to a secretary?:

I do not believe I have had much interaction in roles to do with a secretary but do have quite a bit of knowledge as a friend of mine (previously known as an MHC receptionist) has told me on what tasks you are given and what you are inclined to do.

How much do you pay attention to the in-game chat window?:

Seeing as I am a mute I do pay quite a bit of attention to the tab as that is one of the many forms of communication I use. I also do pay attention to it to see what is going on such as: What the current defcon is or the many AOS's called on troopers. I also am quite curious about what went on whilst I had been afk whether it had been normal roleplay or a small event

How serious of a roleplayer are you?:

I do believe I am quite experienced with serious roleplay seeing as I have had many roles which require heavy roleplay to make, such roles include Navy engineers, Navy itself and also I had made the lore character 'Shrap' in SCAR which does require roleplay if you decide to specialize in demolitions.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you will be undertaking mainly a administrative role and not a combat role?:

I do understand as a Secretary you are inclined to more of the desk-based work and not to attempt to be in the front lines, this is one of the many reasons why I am applying for this role.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you may not talk about private MHC affairs with any other unauthorised person or organisation?:

I do recognize that talking about any projects that are meant to be confidential is strictly inhibited to prevent any sensitive information to be leaked to a wide array of people.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you will undertake the responsibilities of (to some regard) running the Star Destroyer and Imperial Military and bear the consequences of any failures?:

I do understand that I would be expected to maintain the ship in cases of where any other Military High Command personnel are absent.

I would like to thank everyone who encouraged me to go for this position.

if you have any particular questions you can contact me on Teamspeak, In game or on the forums.

Kind regards ~Puppy

Guest Excalibur

What is your Steam display name?: Excalibur

What is your current in-game rank and regiment?: Captain | SCAR

How much time have you spent on the server?: 4 weeks, 2 days, 8 hours on-server, around 1021 hours in game.

How active are you in-game and on the forums?: I am in game most days, I check the forums daily to ensure I am up to date. I typically check the forums at least twice a day as things change.

Do you have any kicks, warnings or bans?: No, I have not.

Which job do you want to apply for?: Secretary  (Although I have no issue with being a receptionist if I am able)

What do you know about Military High Command?:

Military High command is the controlling body of the military. It is the organisation that is in charge of duties such as the completion of SGT and OC tests, as well as having control over the different sections of regiments (Attack, specialist, etc) MHC consists of Generals, secretaries and receptionists, as well as having the nova troopers and storm marines under their command. MHC generals are in charge of specific sections of the troopers stationed on ship. For example, Lieutenant general Stevo is in charge of the Attack regiments, and deals with their commanders and ensures things are running well. MHC is highly important in maintaining the chain of command on board the ship, as generals are needed to authorise various matters.

MHC  run weekly commander's meetings in order to keep everyone up to date and ensure the commanders know what issues are occurring and what is happening. Before events, there are sometimes commanders meetings run by event masters and sometimes the generals as well.

Have you been the commanding officer or acting commanding officer of a regiment or organisation previously?:

I was commander of Vader’s Fist for around a month or so.

In your opinion/experience, what is a MHC Secretary/Receptionist and what do they do?:

Secretaries and Receptionists work along side the generals in order to assist them with various duties.

Secretaries organise meetings for the generals, keep logs of meetings and the people involved and follow up on meetings, contacting the required people as needed and recording this information appropriately. Lower ranks of secretaries are also required to provide refreshments during meetings and ensure that MHC and other important areas are being correctly guarded. The higher ranks of secretaries are also able to administer SGT and OC tests as well as marking them.

Receptionists have similar duties to that of secretaries. Receptionists are to attend all meetings, in which they may be required to record the minutes and who was present. They are sometimes assigned to specific generals, who they will need to accompany in order to keep records and data in check. If no SGT+ is available, a receptionist may be required to train recruits as a last resort.

How will being a part of Military High Command benefit us and you?:

I will benefit MHC through my ability to complete work in a time efficient manner, as well as having good knowledge on the use of both google sheets and google docs. I am available most days and have no problem attending meetings, recording things, etc. My experience with formulas means that spreadsheets I make will be as automated as possible for the highest possible ease of viewing. I would be more than happy to assist my fellow MHC members in whatever task needs doing.

It will benefit me in that I will have an opportunity to assist in the higher runnings of the ship, and will give me an opportunity to increase serious rp and create more of it where possible. I will get an opportunity to take on a new position and benefit from the new experiences that come with it. As well as this, it would give me a chance to have a change from the trooper style of roleplay, into something a bit different.

How good are you at typing?:

I am a decently fast typer, as in the early days of me playing the server, I only used text chat. I have since changed to microphone. I have made a lot of documents over time and this has further improved my typing ability. I'm generally good about not making typos and respond to messages as quickly as I can.

Do you know how to work a Google Sheets spreadsheet?:

Yes, I have been the SCAR “secretary” for some time, and this has given me good experience in the use of formulas and data. This role meant I had to constantly update our spreadsheets, make documents, etc, and as such I have become good at maintaining documents. I've been using google sheets for some time and have gained considerable experience with it.

What previous experience have you had in an administrative role such as or similar to a secretary?:

I have been in navy previously, which required a lot of use of comms and going to various meetings, organising things, etc. Although not an administrative role, my time in Nova gave me some insight into the duties of the MHC members.

How much do you pay attention to the in-game chat window?:

I watch it most of the time in case something occurs that I need to know about.

How serious of a roleplayer are you?:

I consider myself to be a serious roleplayer. I enjoy when at least some form of passive rp is going on and enjoy taking part in it. I can get quite into character at times, especially in serious situations such as in events, etc.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you will be undertaking mainly a administrative role and not a combat role?: I understand this. I have had almost 600 hours of being a trooper and would very much like a change.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you may not talk about private MHC affairs with any other unauthorised person or organisation?: I understand, confidentiality is highly important when dealing with sensitive data.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you will undertake the responsibilities of (to some regard) running the Star Destroyer and Imperial Military and bear the consequences of any failures?: I understand this, and am willing to accept responsibility for my failures and learn from them.

What is your Steam display name?: admonish

What is your current in-game rank and regiment?: SCAR Warrant Officer Admonish

How much time have you spent on the server?: At the time of writing this application I have amassed 3w 5d 21h.

How active are you in-game and on the forums?: I am in-game close to every day, I rather frequently visit the forums, usually having it open in another tab and refreshing every so often.

Do you have any kicks, warnings or bans?I have one warning, issued on the 13/10/17 for player disrespect. This warning was completely fair and I take full responsibility for my actions.

Which job do you want to apply for?: I am applying for receptionist.

What do you know about Military High Command?:

In my eyes, MHC is the collective of several individuals, including the Generals, Secretaries and Receptionists. This group of individuals are protected by the Nova Troopers and the Storm Marines. The duties of MHC include tests for troopers, ensuring that recruits are being trained properly and effectively and making sure that all Sergeants, Officers and Commanders are up to scratch. For the chain of command within MHC, I am aware that the High General is the lead of the Generals, with several lower ranking Generals along side him. The secretaries assist the generals, by doing meetings and helping with tests and the receptionists just help with minor jobs and bookings for meetings. Each week, MHC conduct a meeting in which they outline future plans, how current commander's are performing, and where they also point out current problems that commanders need to fix.

Have you been the commanding officer or acting commanding officer of a regiment or organisation previously?:

I was the second in command of Storm Commando's for roughly a month, and apart of the regiment for two months. I was also the shadow commander very briefly, although me stepping down from this role was explained and accepted.

In your opinion/experience, what is a MHC Secretary/Receptionist and what do they do?:

In my eyes, the secretaries are the General's assistants, helping with tests and other duties and also doing meetings and passing the information onto the Generals. And from my experience, the receptionists book meetings and help the secretaries with small duties.

How will being a part of Military High Command benefit us and you?:

I believe that if I was given the opportunity to be apart of MHC, I could greatly benefit the other Receptionists, Secretaries and Generals as I am active and willing to assist with spreadsheets, tests and meetings. I am active most days, if not I am easily reachable and shouldn't take too long to respond to any messages left to me on the forums, or through steam. I mainly would like to apply for this position as I am growing bored of the RP that being a trooper provides, as over several servers I have amassed over 2,000 hours doing as much and I am looking for a much needed change and believe that the role of receptionist would be a good change.

How good are you at typing?I consider myself alright at typing, being able to type reasonably fast with minimal grammatical errors.

Do you know how to work a Google Sheets spreadsheet?Yes, I do.

What previous experience have you had in an administrative role such as or similar to a secretary? On Imperial Gaming, I have not. Although on previous servers I have been in navy.

How much do you pay attention to the in-game chat window?I tend to try to read most things in the chatbox, although occasionally I will miss a few things, this would be usually due to me being AFK or alt tabbed.

How serious of a roleplayer are you?I wouldn't say that I'd actively seek RP, although if presented a scenario I will attempt to RP along with it.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you will be undertaking mainly a administrative role and not a combat role?Yes.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you may not talk about private MHC affairs with any other unauthorised person or organisation?Yes.

Do you understand/accept that, as a MHC Secretary/Receptionist, you will undertake the responsibilities of (to some regard) running the Star Destroyer and Imperial Military and bear the consequences of any failures?: Yes.

After a long delay, Military High Command finally have made their decision, and a different one at that...

These applications are ending quite abruptly this time around. I have done extensive processing via elimination and, although we had some very strong applicants, the outcome is clear.

Military High Command's new Secretary is @Jerta!

&

Military High Command's new Receptionists are @Excalibur and @Puppy!

This time around, no pre-decision interviews will be needed, their positions are definite. These three have produced applications that are very impressive and I am very confident they will serve their duty very well and will make great change. I have carefully chosen what position they would be in as they are all very competent at both duties of a Secretary and Receptionist. However, before I officially induct them into Military High Command they will each go through an interview to make sure they understand what they are getting into. Congratulations to our three new personnel, it will be exciting to see them in action!

I apologise for the delay, I have been dealing with problems personally relating to health issues and subsequent doctor's appointments as well as further recuperating from my trip to Streaky Bay (I wanna go back!). Don't worry, I'll be fine in the long run.

If you have any questions about Secretary and Receptionist applications, past and future, do not be afraid to approach me. I wish all of you the best of luck in the future.

- MHC Secretary AI Chef Jr. - replacement leading Secretary and Secretarial Control -
