Possible melee squad/unit

I’ve been doing events the last couple days, being event characters pretty much every event. 

I think having some sort of melee unit added would be good, mainly for the event stuff. I’m thinking this because of the sith.

being a shooting character in the events vs the sith is honestly a nightmare. You either accidentally shoot them and they attack and kill you, or they randomly jump you... 

a melee unit could be used in events as jedi, considering sith often don’t want to be even characters (or at least in every event I’ve been in). 

Maybe make the melee unit that guy from the new Star Wars with the spin weapon thing. Obviously can’t block bullets or jump far.

or the droids with the shock spear things that can block light sabres.

or the black light saber/sword used by mandalorians and other Star Wars characters. 

 

Also, this is off melee but about events, maybe in briefing it would be good if you made sure everyone knew whether or not to be aggressive or be peaceful. 

Otherwise everyone just starts shooting and it kind of ruins the RP a bit.

I can see where you are coming from with this, but the question you have to ask is, a) Are there any decent weapons out there on the workshop that would work for this. b) What is the appeal of it as they would be the same as literally all of the Sith regiments, just nerfed into the ground.

Yeah that’s what I want to avoid obviously. 

The other part of the idea, and this is why I’m talking about these characters around events.

Is every now and again, have try outs for event Jedi.

so they don’t get special skins or anything normally, but if no sith want to be in an event. You train people who want to, to be able to use Jedi stuff for events. 

Like I would be up to just being showed how to use it, so in events sith has someone to fight and for some fun RP stuff where we talk and then fight or something.

just so the troops can all fight without having to constantly worry about shooting at a sith or the other players not doing anything cos the sith just kill everyone. 

 

I’ve seen some dark sabres in the work shop and some of those shock sticks the droid use against Jedi in the work shop.  To make sure they don’t take anything away from sith, just pretty much make them more guard/escort units maybe. Instead of guarding temple and important people, commanders from groups like VF can just call upon one of the droids or melee troops to join them while patrolling or training.

 

 

Also, the appeal would be mainly I guess for event and RP extra stuff. Like the commanders kind of being able to borrow them if they are droids.  And yeah the people joining would have to understand that they are just shit sith that can maybe sometimes be Jedi in the events haha. 

Probbaly the easiest character out of the bunch above in the pics to put in would be Bones maybe. Just paint a droid red and add some black. Then find some version of like the assassins creed hidden blade model for the weapon.

Personally I dont think this will be added as we already have many sith regiments with light sabers and there is not much need for a new regiment with melee weapons.

Another thing is that only allowing certain players to be event characters such as Jedi due to 'training' is pretty bad as the point of an event character is to allow anyone, no matter what their skill level, to try something different every now and then and have some fun. I feel as if there was a 'whitelist' for Jedi in events, those players on it would begin to care less about their regiments. If they really want to play as a Jedi, they should join a Sith regiment.

Whilst I believe this idea may not be adequate enough to actually be expressed enough in-game, we have plenty of Sith playing in Events. They usually just don't want to be used as a saber-wielder, they want a breath of fresh air, which I think not many people that aren't Sith get.

Considering we're unable to find Royal Guard weapons on the workshop, I doubt we'll be able to find suitable weapons for this 'regiment'

Perhaps the predator weapon ? It is shaped like a hidden blade from assassins Creed and is worn on the forearm. The noise could probably be removed by one of our devs. Let me know if you want the workshop link

There is a whitelist for Jedi in events, we choose either past sith or current sith for experience and knowledge wise, too many times in the past has a Jedi with barely any experience started to do the wrong things, e.g Jump into troops and kill them randomly, Ignoring sith and just going for troop kills, not boring able to give the Sith a challenge so its boring for sith. These are some of the reasons why there is already a semi type of whitelist

Instead of an entire regiment, we give melee weapons (and/or) classes with these weapons and put them in defense regiments and specialist regiments such as shock/riot (shock batons), 442nd (Baton), IC/SCAR/Rancor (Vibroblades)
