Time Played Imperial RP Evidence
Have you had any warns (If so state them)?
Yes, I have previously had one warn. I was very new to the server and had very little time played. I had become an event character on Tatooine and decided to steal an imperial ship (turns out it was Krennic’s shuttle, of which I can actually fly now.) Unfortunately, at the time I did not know how to land in a correct manner, and accidently crushed two stormtroopers who were in the landing zone. For this, I was warned for RDM x2. At the time, I thought that in RP, it would be fine for me to steal the ship as I was an event character roleplaying as a thief, and I never intended for the death of the troopers. However, I have since realised that under no circumstances is it okay for an event character to commandeer an imperial vehicle, without EM approval, and let alone kill people (seems like common sense.)
Have you had any bans (If so state them)?
Yes i was perma banned a long time ago but that was resolved, just becasue of minging.
Have you been staff on any other servers or communities (If so state them)?
I was Senior Event master on this server nearly a year ago
What do you believe is the purpose of Moderators on the server?
Moderators demonstrate an imperative role aboard the star destroyer. We are a serious RP server, and the moderators are here to make sure that all personnel are playing their part to enforce this. Moderators ensure that all players, serious about their roleplay, enjoy and appreciate their time on the server. Moderators also guarantee that all server rules are followed, not only rules that ensure the gratification of players (failRP, bullying, abuse of powers, disrespect, RDM and MRDM), but also those that protect the server’s security: This includes DDoS threats, protecting the server from crashing due to excess props and tool abuse that can potentially result in the server crashing. Good moderators do not abuse their powers, are able to remain calm in stressful situations, and are able to read all aspect of a situation, from both the accusing and defending parties’ perspectives. They are furthermore to make informed decisions and implement punishments based on their broad assessment and in conjunction with a defined punishment list. A server moderator is able to demonstrate a pleasant attitude to keep the server in an enlightened and joyful state, while being serious and strict during his / her moderative situations. A moderator must also know his commands, roleplay details and responsibilities surrounding his / her role to assist in the day-to-day running of the ship, I.e. distributing tools, informing persons of details regarding the actions they can and cannot enact and being able to spectate suspicious persons.
Why are you applying to be a Trial Moderator?
I am applying for trial moderator so that I can support the Imperial gaming community in a more proactive manner than I have previously. I have only demonstrated the ability to be a serious and productive member of the server in-character thus far, and highly appreciate and respect the prospect of progressing into the trial moderator role. I have personally experienced many more staff sits and mingy personnel aboard the star destroyer than your average trooper, being a highly active member of the Inferno squad, and a very high ranking death trooper. I have experienced first hand the struggles that staff experience every day with troopers who do not care about their position on the Star Destroyer and continue to minge, FailRP and argue with both staff and members on the server more responsible and knowledgeable than themselves. Personally, I would like to aid in the eradication of this problem to the best of my ability, as I hate to see the experiences of both myself, and other players ruined by troopers that are not playing the server to RP. Furthermore, I have seen many occasions, late at night, where troopers decide that mass RDM is okay, and manage to get away with it due to the lack of staff online at that time or a staff member being preoccupied dealing with other issues. I have been assisted on an extensive range of issues by the moderators and am bewildered by the quality and efficiency standards at which they operate.
What do you believe you can bring to the staff team?
After a month+ of in game time, playing on the server I believe I have learned the ins and outs of the SD’s (Now DS) operations. I have learned what is tolerated and what is not, and I believe this is why I would be a good trial moderator for the server. I already know what to look out for as a moderator, and demonstrate the responsible attitude required to deal with these things swiftly and maturely. I am also quite an active player on the server, and obviously with a Tmod role, this would have no chance of ddecreasing. I am also prepared to work; being a moderator does not only require a mature attitude, it requires time, and I know I am dedicated enough to the server to handle this. However, some moderators in the past have forgotten their role to keep the server fun and enjoyable for all players, and that a positive, non hostile, attitude is necessary when dealing with sits, no matter who is on the other end. Furthermore, as demonstrated by my role of leadership in the Death Trooper regiment, I am capable of leading people in an efficient and effective manner, meaning that If I were needed to step up into a higher moderative role on the server, I would be able to step up and take the role.
Someone Mass RDM’s and disconnects from the server. What do you do?
Firstly, I would check the damage and kill logs to ensure that the player in question did actually commit the offense. I would then teleport to those people that he did kill, and potentially other involved persons, to get their account of what happened (i.e it is not MRDM if an Inquisitor Trooper kills 4 stormtroopers who ran into the sith temple.) If screenshot / video evidence is available I would collect it and review it to gather details over anything else that may have occurred during the situation, and further ensure that the MRDM did actually occur. Once all of the relevant evidence has been collected, I would then make a decision as to whether it is MRDM or not, and compare my conclusion to the IG warns / bans spreadsheet to check the appropriate sentence for someone who commits that crime. I would then collect that person’s steam ID as it is necessary for the warning process and use the !warn command, with the person’s name and then the reason for the warn to warn the person for his offense. Then, if a ban is appropriate, as per IG regulations, I would use the !ban command, with the player’s steam ID, length of ban and reason for ban to ban the player from the server for the appropriate amount of time.
Someone is bullying another member of the community. What do you do?
I would firstly gather all possible evidence of the bullying, including screenshots, video evidence and anecdotal evidence from the player, and chat (either ooc or in character.) I would then consult the potential bully and if I can prove / conclude that the person has been bullying, then I would give a verbal warning to stop his harassing actions. I would then spectate the player and ensure that he does not bully that user, or any other user in future. However, if the bullying was extensive, and involved other punishable actions (i.e racism, player dis, etc) then a warn would be required. To do this, I would use the !warn command, then the player’s steam ID and then the full reason for the warn, with concise detail. These moderativee situations do rely on predominately common sence; as a staff member, i would make a valid assesment of the severity of the bullying, and the type of person who is being bullied (i.e. if the target of the bullying is very young, then the situation will require extensive finess in order to sort out.)
You see a higher ranking staff member abuse their powers. What do you do?
I would first collect all evidence of the staff member abusing, including screenshots, video evidence and potentially log screenshots and voice chat recordings. I would then review this evidence to make sure that the abuse has actually occurred. I would then inform the staff member that he has abused his powers. Depending on the extent of the abuse (i.e. mass slaying players vs accidently someone’s hp by a small amount) consult the staff members above him, and tell them that the abuse has occurred and send that member all of the evidence I have acquired. It is not my role to directly deal with abusing staff, and from this point I would leave it to the higher up staff member to review the evidence and provide an appropriate punishment.
Someone threatens to DDOS the server. what do you do?
I would firstly, again collect all evidence I have seen via chat, logs (if a mingy staff,) video or voice and review this evidence. However, if the threat was deemed as imminent and my common sense told me that the server was under a serious threat of attack, I would immediately kick the player from the server, and join a high ranking staff member on TS to inform them of the possible attack/threat. I would then look out for that player rejoining the server and ensure that the threat has passed / there was a false alarm. Then, for threatening to DDOS the server, I would leave the threat with the high ranking staff member, and inform them of the player’s past offences (verbal warnings I know of and warn history) to inform the high ranking staff member of these offences. Past this point, it is the high ranking member’s (hopefully super admin+) job to deal with the threat. However, if the threat was simply a 'joke' then I would not be forced to refer to higher-ups, and the player would be warned by myself for his actions.
