    Applicants History & Reasons

Have you had any warns (If so state them): No.

Have you had any bans (If so state them): No.

Have you been staff on any other servers or communities (If so state them): Yes, but not for a long while, I think the most recent being DiverseRP (Operator) [CLONEWARSRP], in addition Colossal Gaming (Moderator) [HOGWARTSRP]. I've done development work along my time playing Garry's Mod, but I didn't do much in terms of moderation / administration.

What do you believe is the purpose of Moderators on the server: I think the role of Moderators on the server is to maintain role play, enforce server rules, and to assist in providing an optimal experience for any players on the server. This can be done by providing help with little things, like when people get stuck in walls or roofs, when user roles or and pins need to be changed, to tasks like, assiting in warning, kicking, and banning of minges, rule breakers, bullies, and etc. In addition, I believe the purpose of a moderator is to make Imperial Gaming appear to be its best, ensuring they are not making the community, or staff team look bad.

Why are you applying to be a Trial Moderator: I am applying for this position, because I want to assist the server in anyways I am capable of. Being a support team member, I am already doing my best to provide the best experience I can for players in the community, helping players who are in need of assistance in or out the server. I have got countless hours on Garry's Mod / TeamSpeak 3, and I continue to provide countless hours while playing Imperial Gaming, and want to make more use of these countless hours. Ultimately, I want to do my best for the community, making it as enjoyable as possible, for anyone and everyone in the community.

What do you believe you can bring to the staff team: I can bring countless amounts of life experience to the staff team, I have been working in a manufacuring industry for over a year now, having quite a few jobs before this as well. This allows me to bring real life knowledge of conflict, managment, professionalism, and so much more to the server, assisting in making it appear to be the best Imperial Gaming can be, as well as proving I myself can be responsible and proffessional. I have lots of experience with Role Play, Garry's Mod, and gaming / gaming servers, have a decent understanding of ULX (Assuming it hasn't had any MAJOR changes of the past year or so), and can provide a dedicated, and active staff member to the server.

    Scenarios

Someone Mass RDM’s and disconnects from the server. What do you do?: I would immediately access the logs, retrieving the users SteamID and amount of RDMs. Once this information has been retrieved, I would give a warn for 1. RDM x (kills), and then DC'ing to avoid sit / punishment. Moving on from here I would report the information to a higher ranking staff member, seeing if they would like to take further actions on the person who commited the Mass RDM (Assuming I can't provide the required punishment on the person).

Someone is bullying another member of the community. What do you do?: Seeing as I believe bullying is a big deal, I would talk to the member of the community about the bullying, asking for the bullies name, for any evidence that they can provide, and to talk to me about what has happened. After this stage, I would more then likely talk to the person being accused of bullying, if evidence is provided, talk to them about said evidence and so forth, making sure that they understand what they have done wrong. From this point, more then likely giving the offender a warn. In addition to this, I would like to try resolve the conflict between the two players, being a middle man while trying to have them sort out their issue, this hopefully stopping any future conflict.

You see a higher ranking staff member abuse their powers. What do you do?: I would try talking to the staff member about this for starters, see if they understand what they are doing, this is in consideration of the fact that reporting a staff member should be a worst case scenario and from my experience, it is always better to help people learn from their mistakes rather then assuming incompotence and making such a large deal of something that doesn't need to be made so. From this point on, assuming they continue to abuse their powers, I would Shadow Play, provide screen shots and any other evidence possible to make a case out of the staff member abusing the powers that they have, and report said case. Assuming the abusing person is a Moderator / Admin I would report it to either Whitey or Chopz, if it was a member of the Event Master Team I would report it to Welshy.

Someone threatens to DDOS the server. what do you do?: I would start by taking any information that is found useful, seeing as a DDOS threat is a big deal, I would like to provide evidence, as well as any useful information about the player, accesing any relevant logs from the threatening person, getting SteamID's, steam profile, and provide screenshots or Shadow Play videos as evidence. Going on from here, in consideration that I can not provide the required penalty for a DDOS threat, reporting it straight to a Senior Mod, obviously working my way up the chain providing a Senior Mod etc isn’t available.

I understand that many of you may be concerned about the number of stairs on board the ship. However today is your answer. The following link is a report i gave to Navy to truly ensure the safety of our troopers and elder individuals on board..... BTW I did count every substantial step on board (Included areas I requested to enter), this document does not include ramps.

Excuse me this does not state the Navy Personnel who commissioned the report >:(

  4. Hey there all, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Renegade, also known to some long time friends in the community as JDark47.

Anways, thought it would be just about time for me to introduce myself on the forums.

A bit about Renegade, you will find that he spends a lot of time in the bridge, maneuvering Star Destroyers like a boss (Not really just spamming up the comms for everyone <3)
Renegade is a Sub Lieutenant of the Imperial Navy, dedicating his whole life to the Empire, and sometimes yelling at Khan (Hyperion).

Sometimes you'll find Renegade at an information desk getting pissy at Rancor for jumping on, around, or in the booth, god damn Rancor.

Moving on from Renegade, Im a working man, you'll mostly find me on in the afternoons after work, Im a tradie so I work the 6am starts and early afternoon finishes, meaning plenty of time to play with everyone :))

Oh and you'll find I have the worst rolls.

    Thanks everyone <3

Have you tried being set back to recruit when you load in, with no content installed? That usually fixes it for most people

Yeah I have tried that, thanks for the assistance though, Brass and myself are trying to troubleshoot it now. :)

  7. So well, for a while I have been getting Lua Panics, bought more RAM today because I wanted to play Star Citizen and figured it might help with my Garry's Mod. I can now get into the server, but for only a moment. I am taking a screen shot of my GPU performance to see if anyone might have some ideas, it seems like this might be the problem (This was shortly after it crashed).

    Edit:

I have just updated all my drivers, still have the same thing spiking, although the error message has gone back to saying "Lua Panic, not enough memory".
